MooGoo Natural Milk Shampoo and Cream Conditioner - 500ml Bundle

MooGoo's Natural Milk Shampoo was originally made for a family member who had a scalp so itchy they went to bed with olive oil on their scalp and cling wrap around their head. It took MooGoo 6 months of trialing until they were able to banish the cling wrap to the kitchen for good.

 

MooGoo combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be gentler on the hair than one concentrated cleanser. They chose natural cleansers that wash and foam up fairly well, although the foaming action isn’t quite as intense as it would be if they used a synthetic detergent like SLS (or other common culprits that end in –fate). But they're happy to make this small trade-off to use more natural ingredients that are healthier for us and the environment. This just means a little more agitation is required to build up the lather, which if you look at it another way, a great excuse for a head massage (and there is evidence to suggest that massaging the scalp can stimulate hair growth).

Most conditioners are made using silicone-based ingredients that coat the hair in something slippery, making it feel silky and smooth. They do a great job of making the hair feel hydrated and easy to detangle which can be helpful for fragile chemo hair. However, many people find that silicone can build up on the hair over time, making it feel heavy and limp. This usually results in a need for a different type of shampoo to get rid of the buildup caused by these types of conditioners. 

 

So MooGoo have made a creamy conditioner from natural oils that won’t build up on the hair and actually penetrates and hydrates the hair instead of just making it feel nice for a while. Using natural ingredients is not only better for your hair and scalp, it’s also much better for the environment.
